Sejarah Perkembangan Aktiviti Penangkapan Ikan

Pengiran Khairul Rijal bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahim

Abstract

ABSTRACT:  “History of Fishing Activities”. The fishing activity has experienced such a long of development history. These developments are influenced by efforts to meet the demands and needs of fisheries resources. Starting from the needs and demands of subsistence, leading to the commercialization of fishing activities for the export market. Every time there is a change and increasing demand of fishery resources will, directly, change goals and oriestasi an activity of fishing. Changes in its goals and orientation have led to the creation and modification of fishing technologies, which become the main tool for land fishery resources. This article, using the literature review and method of historical research, showed hat the development of fishing activities not only stands out in an area or place, but it was across the international border, either by imperialism or through a joint venture between fishermen from several countries. In other words, the development of fishing activities in an area already affected the fishing activities elsewhere. Therefore, the development of fishing activities are not limited to local or regional level alone, but more broadly to the global level, which caused stocks fishery resources decline to a level that is very worrying.

KEY WORD: Fishing Activities; Historical Perspective; Global, Regional, and Local Levels; Continuity and Change.
